At last, the voices of midlife women have a powerful collective voice, thanks to Lucy Ryan. There are two big reasons senior leaders (not just HR) should not just read this (very readable) book, but act on it. First taking action to address why women are ‘revolting’ is the right thing to do. Second, the business case for doing the ‘right thing’! In a world where talent is both scarce, especially experienced talent, and more and more expensive to hire, why not make more of what you have, and not enforce, bluntly out of date practices upon this wonderful, pool of (all too often overlooked) talent who will continue to bring their richness of lived experience and the diversity of thought that comes with it; and excitingly real evidence of inclusive leadership.
